Vinyasa Yoga

  • Vinyasa is also known as ‘flow’ so expect continuous movement in these classes from one posture to the next. Often there is more emphasis on the transitions between postures aswell as the linking of movement with the breath. All Vinyasa classes at the studio follow the same principles, but each teacher has their own personal approach so some classes are more mellow, others more playful & challenging.

Hot Yoga

  • Our Hot Yoga classes are heated using Luxe infra-red ceiling panels. Infra-red heat has many benefits, these include detoxification, pain relief, reduction of muscle tension, relaxation, improved circulation, weight loss, skin purification, boosting of the immune system and lowering of blood pressure.

If you suffer with any medical conditions please consult with your GP before attending Hot Yoga to check this is not contra-indicated for you.

Hot Yoga is not suitable for women during pregnancy.

Rocket Yoga

  • Rocket yoga blends the structure of Ashtanga Vinyasa with a playful, inclusive & creative spirit and was developed in the 80’s by Larry Schultz who, after spending many years with his teacher Phattabi Jois, formed a new intuitive type of yoga: “The Rocket”, a free flowing, dynamic class focusing on strength as well as flexibility. Larry named the sequences The Rocket, because it gets you there faster. Where? wherever you want to be - the beauty about the practice and the way it is taught, is that everyone gets to do what they want.

Functional Foundations

  • This functional yoga class takes you back to basics—teaching you how to move better, not just stretch deeper. By combining traditional yoga postures with mobility drills, you’ll learn to strengthen your joints and deepen your control through positions like Pigeon, improving both range and resilience. Each session focuses on creating a body that moves with intention and ease—enhancing performance, supporting recovery, and helping you feel more connected and capable in everything you do. All are welcome- including beginners.

Yin Yoga

  • Yin Yoga is a perfect class for those who want to slow down, release tension & create space to be mindful. A soothing practice that works on the joints & fascia for longevity in the body. Also great for super active people who want to work on their flexibility. The perfect compliment to our vinyasa practices & the stresses of a very ‘yang’ dominant life.

This class is for those who like a more relaxed approach to their yoga. Stay low and grounded, hold gentle postures for longer allowing low-level stress on the tissues to open up space in your body. The ideal antidote to a hard day-which often leaves us with a hard body and busy mind. Often postures use studio props like bolsters & blankets for support.

Relaxation is the state of being that this practice often induces. Yin is a very calming practice & one which teaches us to let go & surrender, something we often find very difficult to do.

FAQs

  • “Start simply, Simply start.”

Yoga is a vast subject to be explored with many different approaches. But don’t worry about that, all in good time! We welcome Beginners in all of our classes!

It’s always difficult to recommend a class until we know you. When starting Yoga, everyone has different expectations and motivations, and is coming to the yoga studio with a different background & lifestyle.

Have a read of the class descriptions & try whichever classes appeal to you … even the ones that don’t! You never know!

We are always happy to chat after class & help you find the right class!

  • Try, try, try! You know best what you want/need from yoga. You’ll find the perfect recipe by trying lots of different classes out!

Your optimal practice might be a combination of a couple different classes. Variety is great for our bodies & minds, and trying new things has its own amazing benefits. Some days you may want to move more in a class, other days you may seek to relax.

  • Well… it depends what else you are doing with your body. If you are quite active doing other things you can feel a real benefit from just one consistent class per week. If mindful movement is your jam you might do 4-5 classes per week like many of our members.

Just like with anything, regular & consistent practice is key to benefiting from yoga. Start with 1 regular session per week & make it feel part of your life, and go from there!

We believe that you should move your body & create time to be mindful every single day but offer the body variety. This doesn’t always have to take the same form/intensity.

  • ABSOLUTELY! Saying you are ‘too stiff’ to do yoga is like saying you are ‘too dirty’ to take a bath. If you never do it — it will never change.

The body & mind respond quickly to new stimulus but be patient with yourself & try not to compare yourself to anyone else.

We teach with an inclusive approach to yoga. It isn’t all about being bendy. It is often actually the nervous system that limits range of movement, not the length of your hamstrings. Good mobility is an essential part of life. If you can’t touch your toes then we guarantee that making time to move your body different ways & breathe deeply on the yoga mat will enrich your life.

  • We are a fully equipped studio. If you have your own mat, bring it along; if not we have great mats for your use. We just ask that you clean them after with sprays provided for the next person.

HOT YOGA – We ask that you bring your own mat; if you don’t have one please bring a towel to use over the top of a studio mat.

If props are needed for the class teachers will advise and the studio will provide.

Wear anything which feels comfortable and supportive but doesn’t restrict movement. Bring a bottle of water along too!

  • We recommend downloading the Glofox app to your phone — it’s really easy to use and gives you access to everything.

You can also book through the website.

  • If you are unable to attend a class you have booked please let us know asap by cancelling on the app or clicking the link in your confirmation email.

Late cancellations (8 hrs or less before class time) & late/non-attendance are non-refundable.

Classes cancelled outside the late cancellation window will be credited on your booking account — this will automatically be used for your next class.

  • That depends. What did your doctor or physiotherapist say?

While we’d like to tell you that yoga will always heal you, we simply can’t make those kinds of promises. Many students find yoga to be a helpful resource when working through an injury but it depends on the specifics and severity. If your doctor or therapist/bodyworker has given you the go ahead & you feel comfortable moving then you might find group classes useful.

Please note: in a group class setting teachers are limited in what they can offer for individual needs. In some instances 1:1 tuition may be more suitable to assess your comfort, tailor intensity and offer personalised guidance.

Yoga can help with many things, but we are not qualified to diagnose injuries so your doctor/physio and your own intuition are the first lines of defence when working with an injury.

  • While yoga during pregnancy can be really beneficial, there are specific considerations for pregnant women.

If you’ve never stepped on a yoga mat before, now may not be the best time to jump into a vigorous class. After the first trimester we recommend Pregnancy or Pre-natal Yoga, which are suitable for anyone — even if you haven’t done yoga before.

If you have any questions regarding yoga during your pregnancy please reach out to us & we will talk it through with you.

  • Seems a strange one but it can really affect how you feel on the yoga mat!

The general advice is that a large meal should be eaten at least 2 hours before a yoga practice, or afterwards!

If you feel like you need some fuel for energy then a small snack 1 hr–90 mins before class is ideal! This also goes for morning classes (a handful of dried fruit & nuts is ideal!).

Hydrate yourself well before & after classes but avoid drinking litres of water whilst at the studio as all that fluid sloshing in your stomach can make you feel a bit sick as you move!

Studio Etiquette

We want you to have the best experience at the studio, so here is the low-down on what to expect.

At Mula, we want every class to feel calm, connected and welcoming for all. Please arrive 5–10 minutes before your class begins so you have time to settle on your mat, visit the toilet and arrive without rush. When you enter leave your shoes at the door and sign in at reception before making your way into the studio.

To maintain a peaceful and secure environment late arrivals of more than two minutes may not be permitted as doors are locked once class begins to ensure everyone’s safety and focus.

Please store all personal belongings including bags, phones and smartwatches in the lockers provided. Only your yoga mat and water should be brought into the studio. Yoga is your time to disconnect, unwind and be fully present free from distractions.

We love that our space is filled with friendly, familiar faces but we also value the quiet moments before class. Many students use this time for meditation or reflection so we ask that conversation is kept to the reception area to honour the calm energy of the studio.

Thank you for helping us create a space that feels grounded, respectful and full of good energy for everyone.
